Saint John Lutheran Church (Flatrock)
observation of 175th year anniversary
Fall 2023 to Fall 2024
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Psalm 105:1-3 ESV
On Sunday, October 22, 2023, St. John Lutheran Church (Flatrock) begins a year-long celebration of 175 years of being a Lutheran congregation. We will celebrate God’s faithfulness through His Word and Sacrament under the theme: Remember, Renew, Rejoice (based on Psalm 105:1–3). Sunday, October 22, we gather for worship at 9:00 a.m. with Rev. Professor Lawrence Rast, President of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne (CTSFW), as the guest Preacher; the Kantorei Choir from CTSFW will be the choir for the worship service. Immediately following the worship service, Professor Rast will give a presentation on the history of the Lutheran Church in Indiana and our Southwest corner of Allen County; a reception follows the presentation.
